With a lot of talk about the Leeds strike force and if/when/how it can/should/will be strengthened before the season, I remembered that I'd made this a while back; a chart showing the cost per goal of Leeds' main strikers in the Premier League era.
Fairly interesting to look at, even if it isn't all that relevant.
In case you're wondering- I kept it simple- maybe too simple, but I the cost per goal figure only took into account transfer fee paid, and goals scored.
I didn't account for wages, nor did I take into account any transfer money recouped if players were sold.
The players that this would have affected most would be Keane, for whom we recouped over half of his fee when we sold him to Spurs, and Cantona and Hasselbaink, who were both sold for profit.
Even without received transfer fees considered, one man stands alone...! Robbie Fowler's cost per goal is also alarmingly high.
