I've entitled this post 96-97 back four, but a bit of research suggests that these four may have never played together as a back four in a competitive game.
Unless I'm mistaken, they were only all on the pitch together once, vs Leicester in 1996, and even then, Dorigo only came on as sub. I think Kelly also may spent much of the season in GG's ultra defensive midfield, tho it's hard to tell, because team sheets from that era seem to include at least 7 or 8 players who you would call defenders!
The choice of who to caricature must have been pretty difficult for Corinthian to make this season! Ultimately, Jobson fell out of favour, and was replaced in the side by Molenaar, Dorigo missed a fair chunk of the season injured, and even Wetherall was in and out of the team.
I'll post some of the other Corinthians from that season (including a dreadful likeness of Lee Bowyer) another time.
